Exploring Lake Eola Park in Downtown Orlando

Lake Eola Park is a local gem in Orlando. In a city filled with theme parks, this natural playground is refreshing. Located in downtown Orlando, this 43-acre park is a place where you will find families having a picnic, kids laughing on the playground, couples walking hand in hand, friends having a drink and grandparents feeding the swans.

Nature, with food and drinks. I think I've found heaven!

I enjoy going to Lake Eola on Sundays. I can take advantage of the Orlando Farmer's Market that takes place from 10:00-4:00.

If you don't happen to visit the park when the farmer's market is running, there is a Publix across the street on East Central Blvd where you can grab some picnic fixings. There are also a couple of restaurants with great views of the lake. Grabbing a beer and enjoying the view from World of Beer can't be beaten.

There are often events taking place at the Walt Disney World Amphitheater, from protests to performances.

While the swans are the highlight of the park you will find that many other birds enjoy a visit to the park.

There are sculptures located around the park. They are part of See Art Orlando.  The piece below is Cedar of Lebanon,"It is a reflection of our community's diversity, strength, and elegance".

Night time is one of my favorite times to stroll around the lake. It's a great spot to watch the sunset and then enjoy the fountain lit up. There is themed music played on the speakers throughout the park as well. Making for a nice evening for a date night.

You could spend hours at the park or come in for a quick stroll. There are events taking place pretty much every weekend. If you prefer a more chill night out at the park come during the week.

Grab a blanket sit back and take in the view or enjoy a walk around the lake

What I enjoy: It's a visual delight!
Cool feature: The fountain will often be colored based on an organization's awareness
