Exploring Orlando and Celebrating Earth, Science and Records

Another week out and about Exploring Orlando. As usual, I try to balance out nature with food and drinks. My exploring was kept close to home again. I was busy helping out with my daughter's high school chorus production of the Titanic and didn't have much free time.
One of my favorite ways to get out and explore is by foot. It's a great way for me to get some exercise and to take in the sights. I went exploring along Lake Virginia last week. There is a nice path that runs along the lake on Rollin's campus. It's about a mile walk from Dinky Dock over to Lakeview Drive. I love walking this path.

We've been having some nice weather lately. Though to be honest I miss the rain. The lakes are so low and the fire danger is still high. Since it was another nice evening we stopped at Gator's Dockside in Baldwin Park for drinks before the show.  Nothing fancy here, but I do love the view while enjoying my beer.

Thursday night our family went to watch our daughter perform at Night on Broadway 🎤 The Winter Park Chorus Department does and amazing job. They do this every spring and the concert benefits the Tyler Rush Memorial Scholarship Fund.  This year's show was another spectacular performance!

Worthy of a standing ovation

I went out exploring in my Audubon Park neighborhood. I usually swing by the East End Market once a week. I couldn't believe how tall the flowers have gotten out front of the market. They are so pretty!🌻

Fridays I usually splurge on a treat in the neighborhood. I ended up at Blue Bird. Their brownies are my FAV! I decided to branch out and try one of these Krispy treats. These were just as delicious at the brownies and a great deal at $2. 25!👍

Saturday was a day of biking around town. Bryan and I got nine miles of exploring on our bike. 🚴

There were a BUNCH of events taking place around town Saturday afternoon. We started out in Audubon Park where there were tons of people at Park Ave Cds for Record Store Day.

We then headed downtown to Lake Eola Park. There was an Earth Day 🌏celebration on one side of the lake and the March For Science ⚛ on the other. There were lots of people out for both events.

Saturday was opening day for Orlando Pride ⚽There was a lot of excitement our front of the stadium.

As Bryan and I were making our way back up towards Colonial we came upon the West Arts District.  There was an artist painting and he encouraged us to come in and take a look around. It's a very cool space. I will have a post with more photos soon.

We then biked over to Ten10 for some beers. They had a collab on tap that they did with Central 28. Sister Midnight was brewed for Record Store Day.🍻

What's nice about going to Ten10 is my favorite bottle shop is just a couple of blocks away. We walked over and enjoyed some beers at GB's Bottle Shop with friends and grabbed a couple to take home.

We came back through Audubon Park where we were lucky to swing by P is for Pie before they closed.  We got some Cutie Pies to pair with our beer. OMG, so good! I love pairing desserts with beer💖

With all that biking in the heat, we crashed the rest of the weekend. It was nice to have a lazy Sunday.

I hope you had fun exploring Orlando or wherever you may call home.✨
