International Drive in Orlando

I love that International Drive is pedestrian friendly.  I enjoy getting out and exploring Orlando and getting out on foot is the best way to discover this city.  There is so much to see and do along I-Drive and wandering about can make for a fun outing.

International Drive is known as the city's "Tourist Strip".  The 11 miles of the Drive is filled with hotels, shopping, dining, entertainment, recreation and more.  When I take a visit to I-Drive I focus on the area between Sand Lake and the Convention Center.  There is a lot going on in this corridor.  Here are some places I enjoy along this section.

Stop by for some bowling with friends or grab a bite to eat and a cocktail at the bar.

The Yard House Orlando is opening up next week on April 24th.   There will be over 125 draft beers to choose from.  They will be open for lunch, dinner and late night dining.

I Drive 360 will be one of International Drive's newest attractions.  The Orlando Eye is just part of a larger entertainment complex.  There will be shopping, dining and attractions such as Madame Tussauds Orlando and Sea Life Orlando.

Just across from the street from I Drive 360 is Pirate's Cove Adventure Golf.  This is a great place to play mini golf.

Café Tu Tu Tange is a local restaurant with a fun bohemian flare about it.  This tapas style restaurant is fun for groups.  There is artwork for sale adorning the walls.  The times I've been in I've seen artists at work among the diners.

While wandering about International Drive we made our way over to Universal Blvd.  We were to headed to the Orange County Convention Center.  It was a nice walk with all the undeveloped open space.  I couldn't believe this was next to one of Orlando's busiest corridors.

I stopped by the Orange County Convention Center for a visit a couple of weeks ago. This was my first time stepping foot in this massive complex. There is so much going on here. The Convention Center is quite an amazing set of buildings.

While walking back up International Drive from the Convention Center we came upon the Hyatt Regency Orlando. What a beautiful hotel.  We went in to check out the lobby and came across their lounge Rocks. This lounge is stunning with a stylish retro flair about it. It would be a nice spot to enjoy a cocktail and take in the view of the pool.

I enjoy wandering about Pointe Orlando. It's a nice place to enjoy a bite at one other the many restaurants.  A couple of places I enjoy grabbing a bite and drinks are Marlow's Tavern and The Pub.

These places are just a sampling of what you will find when exploring International Drive.  I look forward to discovering more in this area.
