Exploring the UCF Arboretum

I was headed towards the University of Central Florida recently. I thought I would take advantage of being out that way and do a little exploring. I love getting my nature fix and thought it would be nice to go check out the arboretum they have on campus.

Our visit was on a Saturday, which made it easier to get around and find the location of the Arboretum. It was a little tricky not being a student. We followed the directions for those volunteering and parked in the mulch parking lot.

We got out to do some exploring and did a quick walk in the area and then made our way over across Gemini Blvd. to where we saw the entrance to the Arboretum.

This was a nice green space. Bryan and I followed the Fire Loop trail. This was a nice walk that took us about twenty minutes. The scenery was beautiful. We enjoyed looking at the various vegetation and animals we saw along the trail.

We did see a few students out enjoying the trails. I wish the Arboretum had a parking lot next to these trails that made it easier for people to come out and do some exploring. This is such a nice space to have in such a big campus. It seems a shame that it’s not very accessible for guests to come visit.

If you’re out on campus I would encourage you to find your way over to this open space and enjoy a nature fix. Your mind will thank you for it.
