When we moved here three years ago I had heard that 4 Rivers Smokehouse was one of the local favorites. I remember driving down Fairbanks for the first time and seeing this line of people waiting outside of their original location. I had never seen folks waiting in line for food!
We finally made it to 4 Rivers and being new to the area I really didn’t know what to get, so I went with a pulled pork sandwich. Bryan and I were enjoying our meal when John Rivers came over and asked us how our meal was. When he found out we didn’t have the brisket he went to the kitchen and brought us a nice sample to enjoy. I’ve been hooked ever since.
While the newer Winter Park location is my 4 Rivers location I am happy to see them popping up across Central Florida. The newest 4 Rivers just opened up out at the University of Central Florida. I had an opportunity to check out the brand new restaurant for their official ribbon cutting.
This location has a nice open feel with the high ceilings. You’ll find your usual 4Rivers menu along with the big variety of drinks to choose from. You've got your tasty treats too from the Sweet Shop.
I’ve heard the line continues to be long at this location, but you can always call ahead pick up your order. Though I think half the experience of dining at 4 Rivers Smokehouse is waiting in line.
I was happy to see that for the ribbon cutting ceremony they were doing a buffet. This was a nice opportunity for me to experience more than my usual brisket, corn bread and baked beans. Along with my usual favorites I enjoyed sampling the Smokehouse Turkey, Smoked Jalepeños, and Coleslaw. All were as good as I expected. I was especially happy to try the Smokehouse Turkey because I probably would never think to pick that and it was delicious.
I am thankful that places like 4 Rivers Smokehouse continues to expand. They employ over 700 people, and John Rivers is continuously giving back to the community with charitable contributions. He feels that they should “Use what we were given to help other people”
The tasty award wining food is enough draw to check out 4 Rivers. Their giving back to the community makes it easier to support this local business.
