Exploring Walt Disney World ~ Wilderness Nature Path

I love getting out in nature and walking some trails. There have been a few times when I have gone exploring on trails that are quite secluded. While it is nice to get away I do find the seclusion to be a bit scary. I never know who or what will appear in the middle of nowhere.

One place I enjoy nature is at Walt Disney World. There is a nice path located between Fort Wilderness and the Wilderness Lodge. I can come here and get my nature fix and not be so worried about what I may come across.

You can start the trail at Fort Wilderness. You will find the path over by the stables. Stop in and admire the beautiful horses in their stalls. I'm amazed at how big they are.

These were some deer we spotted on one of our visit to the Wilderness Lodge Villas. There is a small wooded area between the villas and the trail.

The trail is about a causal 20 minute walk. Take the boat from the Magic Kingdom to Fort Wilderness. You can grab a bit to eat at Trails End and stop by the petting zoo before your walk.

Once you are on the trail take note of when you cross back over to the woods along Bay Lake. Head to the left towards the Wilderness Lodge. The trail to the right dead ends at River County.

Once you get to Fort Wilderness you can take the bus or boat back to the Magic Kingdom. Do some exploring around the resort before you leave, it's quite a visual delight!
