Weekly Explorations with Local Eats, Craft Beer, and the Magic Kingdom

Spring Break has come and gone. While I wish the weather could have been a bit nicer we still had fun exploring Florida.

Monday started off with dinner at Kesh Restaurant. Bryan and I joined some food blogging friends for a tasty meet-up. Kesh is out by UCF and it's a small local eatery serving up some tasty food.

Pointe Orlando

I stopped by Pointe Orlando on a Monday night and did a little stroll. It was a beautiful evening out to wander about the shops and restaurants.

Many of the restaurants offer Happy Hour Specials that include both drinks and food. The patios are quite nice to enjoy a cocktail and take in the lovely Florida weather.

Marlow's Tavern Orlando

Pointe Orlando is not a likely spot to find many locals. Its location next to the convention center is a big draw for visiting conventioneers. As a local, I think it's fun to head down I-Drive every now and then and do some exploring.

Pointe Orlando is a nice place to wander about and for a little shopping and grab a bite to eat. Whenever I'm at Pointe Orlando I end up stopping by Marlow's Tavern to enjoy a pint on the patio. Their outdoor patio is great for enjoying the Florida weather and doing a little people watching on I-Drive.
Marlow's Tavern Orlando
Marlow's Tavern is a small chain out of Atlanta. They have about a dozen restaurants with two of them in Florida.  Each one is unique to its location. The Marlow's Tavern in Orlando has a nice tavern feel about it.  I especially like the open bar allowing those sitting at the bar to enjoy the outdoors.

Exploring Walt Disney World ~ Wilderness Nature Path

I love getting out in nature and walking some trails. There have been a few times when I have gone exploring on trails that are quite secluded. While it is nice to get away I do find the seclusion to be a bit scary. I never know who or what will appear in the middle of nowhere.

One place I enjoy nature is at Walt Disney World. There is a nice path located between Fort Wilderness and the Wilderness Lodge. I can come here and get my nature fix and not be so worried about what I may come across.

You can start the trail at Fort Wilderness. You will find the path over by the stables. Stop in and admire the beautiful horses in their stalls. I'm amazed at how big they are.

Walking Around Village Lake in Downtown Disney at Walt Disney World

I always enjoy going out for a stroll around a lake. Did you know there is a walking trail that goes around Village Lake in Downtown Disney? You can walk full circle from Downtown Disney through the Lake Buena Vista Golf course and around Saratoga Springs.

Bryan and I have enjoyed the walk a couple of times and both times we have come across others enjoying the trail as well. You'll find some nice views of Downtown Disney across the Lake.

I like grabbing a bite and then doing some exploring on the trail. Enjoy a bit of nature and the sights and sounds of Downtown Disney.

Exploring Hal Scott Regional Preserve & Park

I love nature, getting out in it helps rejuvenate my soul. The sights, sounds and smell can do wonders for one's mind.

I'm always on the lookout for parks and trails I have yet explored. Bryan and I were on our way to Melbourne and I searched to see if there were any places we could go out and enjoy the beautiful Florida weather. Hal Scott Regional Preserve & Park is conveniently located off the Beachline Expressway.

Weekly Explorations with Local Events, Craft Beer, Local Eats, Walt Disney World and More

I wrapped up February with some fun local events. There is so much to do and enjoy in Orlando right now.

Last Tuesday I stopped by East End Market to listen to a couple of presentations by Rethinking the City. Rethinking the City has presentations once a month on positive ways we can impact Orlando. This month's discussion was about putting culture into alternative forms of transportation. There was also a presentation by Transit Interpretation Project (TrIP), an urban arts endeavor in Orlando.
