Exploring Florida's Space Coast ~ Charlie & Jake's Brewery Grille

On my quest to visit as many Florida breweries as I can I was happy to find Charlie & Jake's Brewery just an hour drive away in Melbourne.

This local brewery is also a restaurant which made it convenient for us since it was dinner time.  Charlie & Jake's has been brewing beer on the Space Coast since 2006.  When we pulled up you can tell that this is a favorite among the locals.

You will find there are four of their regular beers on tap at all times.  They also have a small variety of seasonals and specialty beers on tap as well.

I always enjoy sampling the beers from breweries.  I find that it's a nice way to get a good feel about the beers they serve.  I was shocked to find that the Beer Sampler was only $4.  This made it a great deal to try them and figure out what beer was your favorite where you could then enjoy a pint for just $4.50.

A few of my favorite in house beers I enjoyed included the Anniversary Ale, Harbor City Gold, Barracuda Brown and the malty & sweet tasting Indian River Red.

There are many tasting options on the menu.  You'll find your usual burgers & sandwiches, but they also have BBQ and Family Deals.  We opted for the Blackened Mahi Caesar Wrap.  We got a side salad to go along with our sandwich.  We found this to be plenty of food for the two of us to split.

While our main objective to try Charlie & Jake's was to sample some Florida Craft Beer I was happy to find that the food was quite tasty.

The restaurant is quite large with the vats of beer adding to the atmosphere.  There is a decent size dining room and a spacious patio, but we always enjoy sitting at the bar where we can make conversation with the bartenders.

Ironically you will find about eight of their beers on tap, but the other beers are a far cry from being "craft".  Those beers are there to appease the locals who aren't quite into "better" beer.  These folks come here for good eats and enjoy the atmosphere.
If you're in the Melbourne area and you find yourself looking for some good local eats or perhaps you enjoy some fresh Florida Craft Beer Charlie & Jake's Brewery Grille is a place the locals have been enjoying for some time and you can see why.
