Thunder Falls Terrace Island's of Adventure

During a visit to Universal Orlando this spring I wandered around Islands of Adventure looking for some dining options. My kids and I decided to go with ThunderFalls Terrace based on the menu and the atmosphere.

This casual dining spot located in the Jurassic Park section has a nice selection of food. You'll find typical theme park fare such as burgers, but they also have salads, soups, wraps and beans as well.
When I went with my teens and they decided what they wanted to eat; one wanted a Bacon Cheeseburger while the other a Turkey Leg Platter. I knew that would be a lot of food for them, so I opted for a side of black beans seasoned with cumin.

I like that Thunder Falls Terrance isn't on the Universal Meal Plan, and it's somewhat hidden therefore it's not overly crowded.  There is plenty of seating inside including great views of the plunge from the Jurassic Park River Adventure.  You'll also find a number of tables outside.

We ordered plenty of food for the three of us; we even had some turkey left over.  The food was alright, most of it a bit on the salty side.  It’s always nice getting a small discount with our annual passes.

A few weeks later Bryan and I hit the parks on a very hot day. The usual fast food options didn't sound tasty.  I thought we'd go get something lighter to eat over at Thunder Falls Terrace.  We were going to get the Rotisserie Chicken Salad but opted for the Chicken Tortilla Wrap with a side of fries.  This sandwich wrap was tasty and we found it to be plenty of food to split between the two of us.

During our lunch, we got to see a handler come around to the tables with a "baby dinosaur". The groups of school-aged children were having a lot of fun with the puppet. The handler did a good job making it look real. This was a fun little perk you get when dining here; great if you have a child who loves dinosaurs.

We found the food to be mediocre, but the atmosphere made it a nicer meal. I might stop back by and give them another chance since it was ok, but then again I might keep searching for a better option.
