Prato in Winter Park

I love when you find a restaurant that you can continue to dine at and the meal taste better every visit.  Prato delivers every time; from the food, service, and atmosphere. I've found a gem along Park Avenue in Winter Park.

Bryan and I have dined at dinner twice and have enjoyed lunch on the patio as well. During each visit the service was wonderful; going over the menu and answering any questions and making recommendations.  We've gone with their suggestions since so many dishes on the menu sound tasty.

Prato has a large wraparound bar in the center of the dining room. There's a bit of a rustic charm, but stylish look about the place. I prefer to enjoy my meal on their small storefront patio; taking in the view along Park Avenue.

Bryan and I like to order a number of items on the menu and sharing them with each other. We enjoy splitting Antipasti along with a salad. The Local Heirloom Tomato & the Copper River Salmon salads both full of local freshness and flavor.

I'm in LOVE with their wood fired pizzas. The thin chewy crust with fresh ingredients is amazing. We've enjoyed the Shrimp Ravioli just as much. I like that the pasta can be ordered as a small or large plate.

During lunch, you’ll find some sandwiches on the menu. I got a tuna sandwich with a glass of white wine; perfect for dining al fresco on the Avenue.

I'm usually one to venture along the avenue to one of my favorite sweet spots for an after dinner treat.  During our last visit to Prato, we decided to stay put and enjoy dessert there.  I'm glad we did because I had an excellent cappuccino. To go along with the coffee I went with the Salted Carmel Gelato; amazing!

There's so much to love at Prato.  While there are other restaurants that offer up delicious food in a great atmosphere, there aren't many that pull that off and commit to using local food while they're at it.  That is what makes me say bravo to Prato.
